Time | Gallery Opening at Haven Gallery

On Saturday, May 19th, 2018 I spent the evening at The Haven Gallery for their Time exhibition, curated by Patrick and Jeannie Wilshire. Lots of cool, awesome artwork. 👏

You can see the art line up on the gallery's website, here:

Painting WIP!

Eeee! Not only did I finish a painting today, but I started a fresh one. I love days like this~

Here you can see two Work In Progress shots of my finished painting. At the time these photos were taken, the painting wasn't quite finished... In the photo on the right, I was finishing up the first layer on the dress. In the image below, I was second layering some areas to merge patches that formed from different paint days. Also- to include additional details that I missed in the first layer. You can see where the second layer & oiling out stopped in the hair- it is somewhat more matte towards the top.

I am happy to finally wrap it up after having it sit on and off the easel for the past few months. :) Contemplating which title to choose (I have two in mind). Keep an eye out for the finished piece!

2018 - Off to a Good Start

Hey Guys,

It has been quite a while since I last updated my blog. In fact, it has been since late December. Can you believe nearly 3 months have flown by?

It has been almost a year since I have moved here, to New Jersey, and I can finally say I feel completely settled in. Fresh artwork is on and off the easel, and a few new projects are underway.

Starting now, I will regularly update this blog twice a month, and share my projects with you here. I usually share all my works in progress shots, updates, and whatnot on social media (Instagram @VictoriaSteelArt, followed by Facebook). And I will continue doing so-  just a dropping a little note that I am adding this blog to my plate.

Another new project, I plan to take head-on, is posting weekly on Youtube. Yes, you read it right- Youtube. Below is a link to my most recent video, a timelapse of an Eye. I'm putting together little videos to practice video editing because, hopefully in the near future, I want to start sharing more in-depth footage of my painting process to my collectors and students.

So I hope you all enjoy, and shoot me an email if you have any questions or remarks! I'm always all-ears.

P.S. This Eye Study has sold to a loving home!

WIP Video | Rise From the Ashes

I'm becoming a jack of all trades--- I am making my own videos on Premiere now 😜😆

Here is a WIP video from a painting finished a little while ago. I am promoting my new art classes in Red Bank, NJ. Please spread the word~ 🎨🎉

Classes start January 2018!
